I am appalled by the inefficiency allowed to breed in today's time and age. This term should have been extinct by now given how immensely fast-paced our society sprints.
Let me lay out my frustrations.
An IT issue from day 1 persisted into the 4th month, due not by my negligence but by the incapable team of IT 'experts'. If it had been ridden from day 1, user frustration would have lessen, hence derived higher work satisfaction. Physiological cost aside, consider the level of productivity that have been compromised.
What I am most frustrated is the "no wrong door policy". Yes, it's so well established in the big picture, but in the micro level, it has failed miserably. You will be surprised how a request to resolve an IT issue will get you into a state of confusion with the departments involved pushing you in all directions possible. Sometimes I really feel like shouting some sense "Damn it! I don't care who you have tasked to fix this; you are the IT department so you jolly well get someone to fix it and don't make me go around the world looking for help!"
Along this line, is another issue I experienced that is in utter disappointment I am saying...
It's ridiculous how I can't even get an envelope that do not ridicule our corporate image. Before you go talking about upholding integrity and all, please knock some common sense in your people!
That's all the rants I have in a day.
My new found love
Ohara Sakurako. She's cute and bubbly. I would like to see her and Yamada Ryosuke act in a romance drama. It's not impossible since she was paired up with his bandmate Nakajima Yuto in Suikyu Yankees. Her upbeat tunes are really addictive as well. Can't wait for her first solo album set to release on 26.11
Secondhand seranade. I noticed his music when I was in JC. Fall for you was the trend word then. I fell in love with the acoustic album that revived my liking. My love for mellow, soft music will go on.
Management retreat today. Few observations I think applies to all retreats...
1. Dominant participants should be banned from focus group discussions cause they only stifle knowledge sharing
2. Passive people makes the most noise. They don't say much constructive stuff and their silence adds to the awkwardness, but when they do say, you rather they shut up or be prepared to be shot down by them.
3. Passive organization is the worst. Apart from being left out in a fast-paced society where only the proactive organizations survive, it suffers a severe dissociation from public interest which has become the trend phrase in the 21st century.
4. What about leaders who find themselves dissociated from their people? One word - doom.
5. Leaders who can't listen? Double doom.
In a related note, the buzzword power has set me thinking recently...The more power one already posseses, the more fearful and insecured the person feels about losing it. The person will soon detract from his or her noble calling to safeguard personal interest. The lesser one has, the more fearless, adventurous and committed the person is. These people are your greatest warriors who takes the frontline in organizational advancement.
Treat others the way you want others to treat you.
I'll probably be abiding by this moral compass as a lifelong principle. It's not a foolproof way to get past your days safely and get you away from danger zones, but it definitely is a safeguard for you cause it makes people think twice when they want to be nasty to you or even blow their top at you.
You're in fact building up a psychological warfare without them knowing.
How?
Be an Angel! Yes I mean it. Just treat everyone so nice that when they decide to backstab you or 'frontstab' you, others will naturally support you emotionally or physically. The devils will later get their karma for hurting the angel. As a matter of fact, it's hard to bear a grude against an angel.
Another thing is to stay clear of politics and refrain from hating on anyone, though clearly it's difficult. I'm still in the midst of neutralize myself and i can only say... 頑張って!

Flavours of Life will be where I document some of those human mysteries I observe in my surroundings which most choose to ignore. It can be extremely interesting to stop, observe and reflect on them because you may be surprised by the sort of enlightenment one can gather from them. It is also here where I seek mental relaxation as it provides me with an escapism from the harsh reality. I will also use this space to immerse in my obsession for entertainment (Well, I can't quite move away from this since it is one of my main source of virtual happiness)
